Get Inspired with Pantone Color of the Year “Greenery”

Feeling a little sluggish or just plain unmotivated? Create a real-life Pinterest board!

At this time of year it’s normal to feel a little worn out. The holidays left us wiped out, the shopping maybe took a little more out of our spending budget than we’d hoped, and everyone seems to have gotten the flu!  But, now is the time to renew your sense of resilience. Create something fun and light that will keep you going through this period of the “blah’s”.

Every year Pantone chooses a color that represents “what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.” Greenery is “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”

This beautifully refreshing color is giving us all the vim & vigor of springtime, here at Symmetry Closets. As the bitterness of winter is still underway, we can look at Greenery with hopeful eyes.

One thing is for sure, this color will add character to any design – whether it be a walk-in closetoffice space, or handsome new mudroom. Where do you see the color Greenery taking you this year?  Does the color evoke certain feelings within your mind, body and soul?   Redirect your feelings and emotions towards a creative design project. As a matter of fact, Pantone and AirBnB just created a real-life version of Greenery.  Merge your finished work into your daily living routine.  It may change your perspective, it may not – but it’s certainly worth a shot!

One great way to incorporate greenery into your daily routine is to create an inspiration board. This is a low-cost alternative to purchasing pricey home decor that you may not be completely sold on. With your inspiration board all of the bells and whistles are your call – you can go to Michael’s, or whatever craft shop and get as fancy or as basic as you want. To get the most out of this project, you may want to place your creation in a high-traffic area of your home. That way you can remind yourself daily about your goals, dreams, and aspirations.
