Senior Design/Sales Position – Custom Closets

Symmetry Closets is seeking an experienced, talented Senior Design Salesperson for in-home consultative sales. Qualifications:

  • Two to five years custom closet design sales or professional interior design experience
  • Proficiency in computer design software such as AutoCAD, 20/20, or KCDW, etc.
  • Excellent & Proven communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, energetic and friendly with the ability to work independently
  • Must have own car
  • Must have own laptop computer running Microsoft

Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • 1. Operate shop equipment: Panel Saw, Automatic Edge Bander, Line Boring Machine
  • 2. Other misc. shop duties as needed

Qualifications:
– <1 year shop work experience OK or equivalent of school/classes relevant to job description
– Clean driving record with valid driver’s license

Cabinet Installer Helper (Holbrook)

This is a Cabinet Installer Helper position for busy closet company. We are looking for someone with custom closet installation experience – at least a year experience is helpful.

You will work as a two-person installation team at residential customer locations. Company specific training will be provided. Days are Monday through Friday.

We work every day throughout Long Island and the metro area.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

1. Arrives at shop or job location on time and prepares site for installation.

2. Carries materials and tools into the residence.

3. Assists Lead Installers with closets/custom built in installations for residential customers.

4. Works with power tools to measure, cut and to install built ins.

5. Repairs, installs, and troubleshoots in accordance with company guidelines.

6. Observes work in progress and follows all safety procedures including the wearing of personal safety equipment.

7. Cleans up waste and leaves customer’s site in same or better condition than when job was started.

Qualifications:

***Must have a valid driver’s license. ***

High school diploma or GED preferred;

Ability to read and interpret plans or layouts, write short routine reports, speak clearly to customers and employees of organization, and can add, subtract, and take measurements.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee should be comfortable working in customers’ homes.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb stairs; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on a ladder; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.

Career Opportunity – Installer

This full time position will work as part of a two person installation team inside the shop and at customer locations. Our team works a flexible weekly schedule of four to six days per week to accommodate the installation calendar. This position has unlimited growth potential within our dynamic and entrepreneurial company.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year closet or kitchen cabinet installation experience
  • Clean and Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs up or down stairs (repeatedly) as necessary
  • Punctual / Reliable / Neat Appearance
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to read floor plans / schematics
  • Experience cutting and installing moldings is a plus
  • Light construction experience is a plus

Schedule could be up to 6 days per week but will vary.
